3. Work Session (“workshop”) to discuss the potential desire and proposed procedure for the Building and Standards Commission to provide input and participate as a group in the pending update to the Lago Vista Comprehensive Plan.
4. 23-2583-APP: Consideration of an appeal pursuant to Section 3.111(h)(1)(A) of Chapter 3 of the Lago Vista Code of Ordinances alleging that errors or erroneous conclusions form the basis of the Development Services Director’s determination under the authority of Section 3.111(e)(3) of that same chapter that a 180-day suspension of the appellant’s contractor registration and a revocation of the associated permit is warranted by the circumstances and those provisions.
5. 23-2599-SIGN-VAR: Consideration of a recommendation to the Lago Vista City Council regarding a sign variance application that seeks an increase to the maximum display area for a wall sign attached to the west elevation of the new Lago Vista High School Student Activity Center located at 8515 Lohman Ford Road, despite being exempt from the requirements of Chapter 5 of the Lago Vista Code of Ordinances as an "official sign."
6. Discussion and consideration of a potential recommendation of a draft amendment to Section 3.108 of Chapter 3 to update the adopted version of NFPA 70, the National Electric Code (NEC) from the 2020 edition to the 2023 edition.
7. Discussion and possible action to appoint a subcommittee to investigate potential amendments to the Lago Vista Code of Ordinances, including chapters that are the primary responsibility of the Public Works Department, that regulate construction and development activity in our community in order to better align the outcomes with the desires and expectations of our residents.
8. Discussion and possible action to appoint a subcommittee to investigate the current and potential future relationship between local building regulations and zoning ordinances, state statutes such as the Texas Occupations Code, and building codes including the International Building Code and the International Residential Code as it is applicable to the use of new or recycled shipping containers and other similar forms or methods of construction.
9. Discussion about potential draft amendments to Section 3.123 (Minimum Standards for all Single-Family and Two-Family Residential Buildings) and/or other related ordinance provisions regarding requirements for accessory building or structures, including a discussion of the limitations imposed by HB 2439 of the 2019 Texas Legislature on those requirements.
10. Discussion of proposals to place subjects on the agenda for a subsequent meeting.
